Ormoc City DRRM Office Response Cluster Undergoes Integrated Planning Incident Command System Training
March 17–21, 2025

Ormoc City — In a proactive effort to strengthen disaster response and management, the Ormoc City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office Response Cluster is currently undergoing a comprehensive Integrated Planning Incident Command System (ICS) Training from March 17 to 21, 2025.

This training aims to equip key personnel from various offices of the Local Government Unit (LGU) with the necessary knowledge and skills in the Incident Command System, an internationally recognized framework designed to enhance coordination, efficiency, and effectiveness during emergencies and disaster response operations.

Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez emphasized the importance of institutionalizing the ICS across the LGU. She expressed her desire that all departments become well-versed in the Management System introduced by the ICS, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration in times of crisis.

"It is essential for our city to be disaster-ready. We must ensure that our teams are not only responsive but also strategically aligned through a unified management system that the ICS provides," the Mayor stated.

Through this initiative, Ormoc City reinforces its commitment to public safety, disaster preparedness, and efficient crisis management for the welfare of its constituents.
